Science and Technology Week with the sandwort in Vodní dům (Water House)

In less than a month there will be a two-day event at the Vodní dům (Water House) within the framework of the Science and Technology Week of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Please come to try, how science can contribute to the endangered plant species rescue.

How can science contribute to the rescue of endangered plant species? Is it possible to return the species to sites where it was already extinct? How can global climate change affect the survival of endangered plant species? You will find out all this in the Vodní dům (Water House) at the Švihov Reservoir on the basis of story of the sandwort (Minuartia smejkalii), whose rescue is aimed by the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and ČSOP Vlašim. You will be able to practice selected research methods and on this basis try to suggest a rescue procedure.
On Friday, the event is for the school only – it starts at the top of every hour.

On Saturday, the event is for families with children, advance booking is not necessary.
